Congratulations to CVES fifth grader, Merril Steenari!! He was one of four students (out of 16,000) whose puck design was selected by the Anaheim Ducks to be manufactured into “real” pucks by 3-D design software corporation Autodesk, which partnered with the Anaheim Ducks at the 15th Annual First Flight Field Trip at Honda Center. Merril Steenari was recognized for his design in front of 16,000 third through sixth graders at the event. Merrill’s teacher, Mrs. Brooks, received a 3-D printer and workstation to use in her classroom to help her students’ learn more about 3-D design and engineering.

Welcome From the President
Welcome CVES families old and new! I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer and enjoyed some rest, relaxation, and quality family time.
The beginning of a new school year is such an exciting time. I remember myself as a child getting all giddy and excited the night before the new year began. I couldn’t wait to see my friends and to meet my new teacher. And today, I look forward to the new school year with much the same anticipation. I am very excited for the year ahead. As your new PTA President, I look forward to meeting and seeing all of you.
In order to be successful, we know that the support and involvement of the parents of our students, the faculty and staff at CVES will be of utmost importance. I urge you all to join the PTA. Your membership enables us to provide our students with Music, Art Masters, Field Trips, Science Lab and Expo, Math Lab, Assemblies, Library Books, PE and Recess equipment, School Nurse, Savannah’s Garden, Student Recess Supervisors, TLC Aides, Talent Show, School Play and many other wonderful programs and events. I also encourage you to participate in the numerous events and programs that we have planned throughout the year. Your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated and will ensure a successful and fulfilling school year for our children.
Please join us on Wednesday, September 24th at 9:30 am for our first PTA Association meeting of the year.
Thank you for your support!!! I look forward to an awesome year!!!
CVES PTA President
